Privacy Policy for the App "Be Happier"

This privacy policy governs your use of the mobile application Be Happier ("the Application"), for both the iOS and Android versions of the Application. The Application is made available for iOS by Part Time Investors LLC, and for Android by PTC Organics Inc.. Both versions of the Application are built and operated identically with respect to the data practices described in this policy, and both companies are referred to in this policy as "we," "us," or "our."

The Application enables you to record, at any given moment, whether you are:

Investing time — engaged in an activity that you enjoy that does not cause harm
Spending time — engaged in an activity that you do not enjoy but would cause harm if you didn't do it
Wasting time — engaged in an activity that causes harm to you or others or the environment
Sleeping

The Application then calculates and displays a Happiness Score based on this record, so you can track your progress over time.

Our privacy commitment, in one sentence

The Application does not collect, transmit, or share any of your personal data with us or with any third party. All of your data stays on your own device.

This is not a promise about our future intentions — it is a factual description of how the Application is built today, based on a complete review of its source code and technical configuration.

What data does the Application store, and where?

Everything you record in the Application — your time entries, timestamps, category selections, activity names, and settings — is stored only in a local database on your own device. There is no server operated by us or anyone else that this data is sent to. We do not have an account system, and there is nothing to register for.

We do not collect:

Your name, email address, or any registration information
Your precise or approximate location
Your device identifiers, IP address, or usage analytics
Any payment or transaction information
Any content you enter into the Application

Does the Application connect to the internet at all?

The Application requests internet access for exactly one purpose: to load our public website (nowbehappier.com) if you choose to visit it from within the app. That connection loads a fixed web page and does not send it any of your personal data. Outside of that single feature, the Application has no network connectivity of any kind and makes no other connection to any server.

What about backups?

Most phones — Android and iPhone alike — offer to back up your apps' data as part of your device's own operating system backup (for example, to your Google Account on Android, or to iCloud on iOS). If you have this feature turned on, your Be Happier data may be included in that backup, the same way most other apps' data is.

This backup is created, encrypted, and stored entirely under your own Google or Apple account. We have no access to it, no way to request it, and no visibility into whether it exists. It exists solely so that your data can transfer to a new device when you upgrade phones. This is the only way Be Happier data could ever leave your device, and it happens only through your own device's built-in backup system — never through anything we operate.

Do third parties see or have access to your information?

No. We do not share, sell, or disclose any user data to third parties, because we do not collect or have access to any user data in the first place. There are no analytics services, advertising services, or third-party tracking tools of any kind built into the Application.

Children's privacy

Because the Application does not collect any personal information from any user, it does not knowingly collect information from children under 13, or from any user of any age.

Your control over your data

Since all data lives only on your device, you are always in complete control of it. You can delete individual entries at any time within the Application. Uninstalling the Application removes all of its locally stored data from your device (subject to whatever backup settings your device itself maintains, as described above, which are entirely within your control through your phone's own settings).

Security

Because your data never leaves your device (other than through your own device's own backup system, which we do not control or access), the security of your Be Happier data is primarily governed by the security of your own device and your own Google or Apple account. We encourage you to use your device's standard security features, such as a passcode or biometric lock.

Changes to this policy

If the Application's data practices ever change in the future, we will update this policy to accurately reflect them before any change takes effect, and will post the updated policy here.
